The Slake Moth

Let me preface by saying I am I the middle of an extremely busy period with paid projects, traveling, and left over school stuff so I only had today to turn out a sketch this week. It's a slake moth, a horrifying creature from a book I really liked and always wanted to draw. At this point it is just a concept but even though it's a sketchy mess there is plenty of detail, so click to ENLARGE.

  3. oooOOOOoooo. I really like him. you seem to have an effortless knack for laying out the anatomy of people and creatures. Your hands are awesome. I fight that kind of stuff and feel like i can never get it to look natural. The colors are great! its very vibrant. Although it is sketchy, it doesn't take away from the piece at all. in fact, i have to zoom all the way in, to even tell that its sketchy. It reminds me of a Magic card. In fact, that would be a kickass next assignment.

  4. Thanks guys! Mark, the secret to drawing anatomy convincingly is this: it's all in the wrist.

  6. Not to be picky, but Slake moths are discribed as having six legs and simian hands.

  7. Not to be picky, but "described" is spelled with an "E" and not an "I".
