Corporate Artists wasting their talent by day, and unleashing their art super powers by night!
Nice work Zach. The dogfish is my fave!
zachus! I like how you simplified it and the colors definitely look dr seuss ish... but i kind of wish you had made it a little more silly... it would have been cool to see a little more of dr seuss in there. I really like what you did with the trees.... thats the spirit that i think you could have carried a little more into the rest of the piece.
Thanks Mark, Ray. Yes this definitely could've taken a more silly turn. As i was making this i really got swept up in the importance of the Boticelli piece. For me it won precedence and i made a conscious decision to stay pretty true to that image. I'm forced to do so much "wacky" work in my freelance that i think i shy away from it when i can. Regardless, great point and thanks for the good comment.
Zach, good, compostion, good color, linework, and good translation of Seusiness to the execution of their faces. But where is the goofy Seussiness throughout?? I agree that you may have taken the original too seriously. My serious art critic side likes it but my inner child is bored and wants to throw a temper tantrum that there arent more wacky things in this story.
How dare you.
your dry, one lined response has me laughing outloud zach...
Listen to this guy bitching about all his wacky freelance work! JK. Obviously a nice job, but agree w/ crits.
If botecelli is too important to you not to "go wacky" then you shouldn't have picked this masterwork for this challenge. Its both offensive to the master botecelli and to the great dr. As well.
Thanks ya'll, good points all around!
