Seussian Gothic

Here's my piece. It is obviously a Seussifiction of the classic painting American Gothic. I had hoped to have the time to add more creatures and oddities to the Seussian structures in the background but my week was interrupted by some unforeseen circumstances. I feel like it needs more work but deadlines are deadlines and I'm ready to move on! I had originally set it up for some Title wording at the top but I just couldn't think what to say.

  1. Very nice job Arman! I blabbed on my post about how i was lazy and didn't make my linework very clean.... and yours is the exact opposite. Your linework is awesome. I'm entranced by the awesome background. Its much more interesting than the characters to me... but I've always been thrilled with the architecture of seuss... it also reminds me of MC Escher, who was another obsession of mine as a kid. Three sided tie is a nice cat in the hat touch.

  3. Totally agree w/ Mark. Very nice. Love the Escheresque background. Wow! Created a new word there! A very nice melding of several different influences.

  4. Hats, they need more hats. Multiple hats, stacked like flats. One hat, two hats, three hats, four. Makes this illo much less poor.
