Cheetara & Elvira

  1. Hahaha! You are really aiming for more "art-rections" with this piece. I laughed out loud when I saw it, in a good way. The two really go together. The finished piece looks like a magazine cover, great design! I would also love to see some freehand Tracy sketch work on one of these projects though.

  3. Colors are very vibrant! It definitely catches the eye, but I agree with Arman, lets see some freehand stuff! I think it would me much more interesting to see your interpretation of Elvira in your own style. Even if you "traced" the photo with a pencil like Drew Struzan style, I think you would get a more interesting result. I hate to get all introspectively hippie art school, but you lose a little bit of the emotion with such a static photo. Please don't take my comments as someone who is sayin shit for the sole purpose of bein a jerk...like i said before, I think it will benefit us all to actually critique eachother. So go ahead and bash mine when i post it, i want to hear it.

  4. I definitely dig the background, very cool idea with the pattern. The color of the background I wish was a little more muted so she'd stand out a little bit more, since the color value of the red shirt and background are very close. Also the Thundercats logo looks a little straight on, and I think it probably needs to have some perspective to it. Otherwise very cool idea with the queen of the night. I remember staying up late to watch her host those bad movie nights.

  7. This is great Tracy! You seamlessly combined these 2 characters into one hot kitty. Nice work.

  8. Thanks for the comments everyone! I am inspired to do something more sketchy next week. Thought about making a collection of vector girls for all these projects so they will sit well together but it would be a good exercise to try a different style.
@ Anonymous, not worried about copyright issues since I am not making any $$$ off of these illustrations. You might find this interesting though, it's information on a famous case involving Shepard Fairey and his Obama "Hope" poster. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_%22Hope%22_poster
