It would require both time and interest on your part though and I'm afraid to say it's time to move on! Looking like Edward Gorey inspired eh? I have some cool monster ideas and what not stored up for this one....Armanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495017171308124773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714164141122947741.post-39163190796393606852011-08-12T12:30:12.003-05:002011-08-12T12:30:12.003-05:00I think it's great. Your detachment from the sub...Here is the thing.... Your detachment from the subject matter is good as it helped your overall attention to the composition as opposed to your spending a ton of time rendering details in a few key areas. The end result is something that packs a tremendous punch at first glance. This strength leads people in for the closer inspection which is where they'll notice you lost some interest in executing the linework. Often people turn out their most artistically sound stuff when they have absolutely no emotional attachment to it.Armanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495017171308124773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714164141122947741.post-52699523340278733872011-08-12T08:44:03.303-05:002011-08-12T08:44:03.303-05:00also, i blame my cintiq which i still cant get fix...also, i blame my cintiq which i still cant get fixed, and ive talked to Wacom multiple times now.... they blame Photoshop CS 5 extended... and say its adobe's fault.Ratzlaffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18017109055504762729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714164141122947741.post-2583172892951910582011-08-12T08:43:11.448-05:002011-08-12T08:43:11.448-05:00Arman,

This project was a good learning experience, but I am having trouble accepting any creative satisfaction. I literally traced the composition, and all the characters are sloppy recreations of the characters i found in my research. I really did not want to do this assignment for some reason. I guess I just didn't feel creative. This project was heavy on execution, and I just got bored. I am definitely lacking in good solid linework as you suggest. The reason I didn't clean up the linework was laziness. I saw problems with some of the characters while i was drawing it, but I didn't bother to fix it. The hands on some of them are pretty goofed up... its sloppy. I could have added more characters being trampled... but again... lazy. I'm going to try to make myself do some clean up work at lunch today, but im much more excited to move on to something new.Ratzlaffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18017109055504762729noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714164141122947741.post-64562079956643571782011-08-12T08:20:13.122-05:002011-08-12T08:20:13.122-05:00The apocalypse looks so cute! The apocalypse looks so cute!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15503061707070953904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714164141122947741.post-44611064460947042632011-08-11T15:29:53.240-05:002011-08-11T15:29:53.240-05:00I absolutely love it, the color, the layout the wo...I absolutely love it, the color, the layout the wording, the character design. I strongly feel that this is a hair's width away from being one of your strongest pieces. My one big issue lies with the unfinished line work. I agree that Dr. Seuss's line work was gestural and "quick" but the color and precision of the line work was also consistent throughout. I just feel like your line work needs some polish.....Armanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15495017171308124773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8714164141122947741.post-56777637024455337232011-08-11T13:46:04.992-05:002011-08-11T13:46:04.992-05:00Once again, you've outdone yourself.
